duet : jordan + patricia

this past year, a big part of my development as a photographer has happened alongside patricia espedal of rejoy photography. we're both been in madison this year, both relatively newly-wed to our fantastic husbands, and both finally taking the plunge into building our photography businesses. and, as God would have it, we're both being brought out of madison and into different cities -- her to colorado springs, and i to grand rapids.

but before our respective departures, we decided on a session swap. both of us are approaching our anniversaries (her, her second and i, my first), and this seemed as good an excuse as any.

so we headed out to pheasant branch conservancy with a van-load full of camera gear and props, and for three hours photographed one another with our husbands. in addition to lugging around globes, baskets, metal stars, and camera bags, they even acted as our mosquito-swatters in the thick woods, so that our shooting wouldn't be interrupted by having to do the task ourselves. yes, they are patient, admirable men!
so, to you patricia: may your path be wide and filled with light. may you find many beautiful people and places on which to turn your lens. may your marriage deepen in humor and unity as each year passes. i thank you for your friendship, your sharing of knowledge, and your willingness to learn alongside me this year. here's to continuing collaboration, encouragement, and friendship!
